Mango

MANGO is an internationally famous multinational which designs, manufactures and markets women’s, men’s and kid’s clothing and accessories. In 1984 MANGO/MNG opened its first store on Barcelona’s Paseo de Gracia. A year later, MANGO/MNG had five outlets in Barcelona and from that point commenced its expansion in the domestic market, with the opening of a store in Valencia.

In 1992 MANGO/MNG opened its 99th store in Spain and from that point, its international expansion got underway with the opening of two stores openings in Portugal and France.

Two years later, the business management system which is still in place today, based on specialized and coordinated teams, was introduced.

In 1997, for the first time, international turnover exceeded domestic turnover, and in 2013 it accounted for 83% of total turnover. MANGO currently has over 2,700 stores in 107 countries worldwide.

At present, MANGO has over 13,000 employees, 2,000 of whom work at the Hangar Design Centre and at its Headquarters in Palau Solità i Plegamans (Barcelona). However, beyond the statistics, it is made up a young and enthusiastic team, with an average age of 32, and 82% of which is female.

The central offices have a total surface area of 150,000 m2 and the Hangar Design Centre, the biggest design Centre in Europe, has a total surface area of 10,000 m2 and houses more than 550 professionals dedicated to creating fashion garments and accessories.

Furthermore, in order to support the growth of the group, MANGO is continuing to develop its logistic park at Lliçà d’Amunt, where it is to base its new logistics center, equipped with some of the most state-of-the-art technology in Europe. In its initial phase, under construction, it will build over 125,000 m2 out of a total 330,000 m2.
